WHAT'S A ROUND-UP?
The Rolling Ridge Round-Up is the end of the riding season fundraiser that is replacing our Ride-A-Thon this year. It works the same way as the ride-a-thon: every rider simply asks people they know to sponsor them. Sponsors can be friends, family, neighbors, etc. There are no pledge forms. Parents of riders will simply collect money from their supporters and hold onto it to turn it in at the Round-Up on August 28th.
CAN WE TURN OUR MONEY IN EARLY?
We prefer that the sponsorship monies be turned in at the Round-Up. This way, YOUR CHILD is given credit for the amount of money you collect. This is important in determining the winners of the Family Trophies that will be presented at the end of the evening. In case of emergency in which you cannot attend the Round-Up, then you can contact Kathryn to turn it in early.
WILL TROPHIES BE AWARDED?
Yes! Just as in the Ride-A-Thon, each rider will be highlighted individually and will receive a trophy for their participation in the Rolling Ridge Riding program (and horse show ribbons if they are available), followed by LOTS OF CHEERING!!!!!
Trophies will also be awarded for:
- the family that brings in the most money to support the riding program
- the family that obtains the largest number of donations (this is not necessarily the largest amount of money – but the LARGEST NUMBER of people who donate any amount of money)
(example: one family may bring in $3000 of sponsorship money, but it was donated by 10 sponsors. Another family may bring in $450 of sponsorship money, but it was donated by 40 sponsors. The first family would get the trophy for the most money; the second family would get the trophy for the largest number of donors).

WILL WE EAT???
YES! Bring money to purchase supper! Just as in the Ride-A-Thon, we will be selling some delicious food and drinks!
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO DONATE DESSERTS!!!!!!
HOW WILL IT WORK?
Arrive at 4:00pm and go through the Rolling Ridge Store, (t- shirts and Rolling Ridge jewelry will be available)….then mosey on down to the kitchen to purchase your meal, and sit in the comfortable air conditioned dining area while we get to watch the power point presentations and awards for the children. Due to the very hot summer we have had, and due to the fact that this event is being held in August this season at an indoor location, the Rolling Ridge horses won't be able to be ridden at the Round-Up, but we'll have plenty of thrilling photos of the kids on their horses throughout the spring and summer rides to present to you as each child is honored.
There will be a form (click here to download as a PDF) that each parent will need to fill out in order for us to honor your child adequately, so please don't fail to download the form, fill it out, and return it to Kathryn. If you need to, you can mail it to: 2426 Narrow Gauge Rd. Reidsville, NC 27320….or just give it to Kathryn or Mark prior to Aug. 28 th .
WHO NEEDS TO PARTICIPATE?
EVERYONE who rides at Rolling Ridge Riding!!!!!!!!!! This is YOUR therapy based horseback riding program! Participating in the Round Up will help Rolling Ridge be able to provide therapy based horse back riding NEXT season!!!!! |
