A Special Rolling Ridge Thank You!
THANK YOU to the Town of Plymouth, NC for stepping up to help Rolling Ridge Riding!
On July 11th, Mark and Kathryn traveled to Colombia, NC near the Albemarle Sound to bring home Rolling Ridge's newest Therapy Horse: a 15 year old Haflinger named Razzle Dazzle.
On the way home, they stopped at a convenience store in Plymouth, NC to fill up the Rolling Ridge Truck. It was there that the keys were accidentally locked in the truck, locking Mark and Kathryn out, and placing the new therapy horse in a very hot situation. God was looking out for Rolling Ridge....the town manager, Mr. Ken Creque, happened to be at the convenience store as well, and when he became aware of the situation, he contacted the Chief of Police, Mr. Steve O'Neal, who came to unlock the door, so we could get back on the road, and get ventilation to our new therapy horse. Remember that the heat index was forecast to be 105 that day. It was sweltering! Unfortunately, the tool that Mr. O'Neal had would not open the locks on the Rolling Ridge truck. Undeterred, he contacted the Washington County Sherriff's Office, and Officer Leigh Anne Schrenkengost arrived with a different tool. Together, they came to our rescue and helped us get back into the Rolling Ridge truck, so that we could continue our journey home, with a happy and healthy therapy horse in tow.
Rolling Ridge would like to thank Police Chief Steve O'Neal, Officer Schrenkengost, and Town Manager Ken Creque (not pictured) for coming to the rescue! They were our heroes in the truest sense of the word. THANK YOU to the wonderful staff of the town of Plymouth NC and the Sherriff's Dept. of Washington County for coming to our aid!!! Razzle is adjusting to his new home at Rolling Ridge, and will begin to participate in therapy rides in the near future!
